ABOUT US:
Michael Whitelaw, owner of Shady Knoll Farm and Training Center since the mid-1970s, has been in the horse racing industry for over 35 years as an owner/trainer and breeder. He has raced in the states of Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas.

Vickie Heine, General Manager, grew up riding quarter horses for pleasure and in 1989, when she met Michael, got hooked on horse racing and bought her first Thoroughbred broodmare in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

At Shady Knoll Farm and Training Center, we have qualified personnel that take great care of your racing prospect (investment) as if it were their own. We are a small, hands-on operation and because all horses are different, each one is treated individually, whether it’s in their feeding program and/or daily regimen, we give them the individual attention that they need to perform their best when it counts the most during a race. We strongly feel that communication between the owners and trainer is very viable and important for the business. After all it is your investment and you need to be informed.
